When preparing for something, I always try to practice or rehearse before the event in order to do my best. For example, before a track meet, I would always train and practice how I could efficiently run my best 400m. Practicing the week before the meet always made me run better because I knew what to expect and was able to confidently establish the running technique that works best for me. Just like track, preparation betters performance in any event, whether is it academically, professionally, or socially. Preparation allows you to anticipate the real event and you are able to build up your confidence and effort in order to achieve your best performance when it is most necessary.
